Cast Iron Oval Ports
Here it is, our all new CNC program for BBC cast iron cylinder heads . These are the round oval ports generally found in truck and passenger car engines. ( Casting # 049) The stock heads will have 2.07" Intake valves , and 1.72" exhaust valves with 3/8" valve stems, and open combustion chambers. We start by upgrading the stock valve sizes to 2.19"/1.88", and then add a competition valve job. We then port the heads using our own in house CNC machine. The CNC machine ensures exact port duplication , that just can't be done by hand. Much time and effort went into creating a port that produces a huge improvement in airflow over the stock castings , while keeping the port volume as small as possible. This wasn't just some " Bowl Hogging Experiment", like what has been done elsewhere. These heads produce unmatched port swirl ( no smoke and mirrors here , we actually have the equipment to measure this ) , and will give your BBC a ton of low end and mid-range power. They will be hard to beat on any engine smaller than 500 cid , and operating below 7000 rpm. Pricing includes taking your cylinder heads apart for cleaning and visual inspection , check deck surface for flatness , inspect valve guides , Competition Valve Job, Valves prepped for Competition use , CNC Porting , spring pockets cut for larger diameter springs ( if needed), valve guides cut to give clearance for high lift cams, and assembly of heads . All these items together would normally cost $ 663.00 individually , but costs only $ 500.000 for labor on this special head package.
